Lenovo To Sell Handset Division

After six years of struggle, Lenovo, the world's fourth-largest computer vendor, has retreated from the strategic but brutally competitive mobile phone business. In an announcement accompanying quarterly results showing strong growth in its core PC operations, Lenovo on Thursday said it would sell its loss-making handset division for US$100m to a private equity arm of its parent Legend Holdings.
